Kahului, HI, February 22 – Back by popular demand, “Young Reporters Media Camp,” will take place during the State Department of Education Spring Break—starting on Monday, Mar. 17 through Friday, Mar. 21. Akaku is currently accepting applications until Wednesday, Mar. 5 and will select up to 10 students to attend the weeklong camp, which costs $200.

Deadline is Monday, Feb. 25 at 8:45 a.m. (And in case you didn’t know!… SB1789 & HB3417are two bills in the Hawaii State Legislature that would help preserve PEG access and ensure that community access cable channels answer to you. Akaku: Maui Community Television (Akaku) empowers the community's voice through access to media. Akaku is a 501(c)3 nonprofit corporation that airs content created by the community for the community. Community members on Maui, Moloka'i, and Lana'i are encouraged to submit programming to the station, create their own television shows and have their voices heard by fellow community members.
