Survey Says, “Akaku is Maui’s Favorite Non-Profit”!

Akaku: Maui Community Television (Akaku) unexpectedly received a donation from Dowling Community Improvement Foundation. Every donation is enthusiastically appreciated, but Akaku treasures this donation because of its message. The Foundation donated $25 as a “thank you to those who participated in the survey” that identified Akaku as Maui’s favored non-profit. (more…)

Face of Mana`o Radio to Talk Story with Akaku Independent Producers

Akaku: Maui Community Television (Akaku) will host Mana`o Radio co-founder, CEO and show host, Kathy Collins, on Friday, May 30 from 6-8 pm at its digital lounge at 333 Dairy Road, Kahului. Independent community producers and residents will be able to “talk story” with Collins after a brief presentation on the theme: “The Role of Community Media on Maui.” The event is free, but interested individuals are encouraged to confirm their attendance as space will be limited. Akaku: Maui Community Television (Akaku) empowers the community's voice through access to media. Akaku is a 501(c)3 nonprofit corporation that airs content created by the community for the community. Community members on Maui, Moloka'i, and Lana'i are encouraged to submit programming to the station, create their own television shows and have their voices heard by fellow community members.
