Akaku to capture history in the making
Chivo Ching-Johnson, Akaku’s Government Services Director, is gearing up for a trip of a lifetime to Washington, DC. His assignment: to capture on camera the events surrounding the inauguration of Hawaii born Barack Obama as the United States’ 44th President.
“Maui is lucky to have an experienced producer like Chivo, with a camera in hand, traveling to Washington to capture the reactions of millions attending this historic event,” said Jay April, CEO/President of Akaku.
Ching-Johnson will be leaving for the nation’s capital in less than two weeks, and while he might forget his toothbrush, he knows what he won’t forget.
“One item that is essential to the trip is bringing cameras to capture history in the making,” said Ching-Johnson, who is also happy to serve as a spokesperson to raise awareness about community access television.
Ching-Johnson says he is proud and enthusiastic to show Maui residents his memorable trip to Washington D.C. on Akaku and will put together a video segment upon his return.
