The studio offices and media lab of Akaku: Maui Community Television at 333 Dairy Road, Kahului and Akaku: Moloka’i Center in Kaunakakai, will be closed to the public on Friday, July 3 in observance of Independence Day. Don’t know how to get to Sesame Street? Akaku: Maui Community Television (Akaku) and the Maui Arts and Cultural Center (MACC) will bring Sesame Street to you in two ways this week beginning Friday, June 19.
The Board of Directors at Akaku: Maui Community Television is accepting nominations for one or more public-at-large or (“Community”) directors to serve on its Board of Directors. Nominees selected by the Board’s Nomination Committee will have the opportunity to serve on the Akaku Board up to the annual meeting in October, with the possibility of serving an additional term from that date forward at the Board’s discretion. All nominations must be received no later than Friday, July 3, 2009 at 5pm at the Akaku offices in Kahului or Molokai. (more…)
Akaku: Maui Community Television (Akaku) empowers the community's voice through access to media. Akaku is a 501(c)3 nonprofit corporation that airs content created by the community for the community. Community members on Maui, Moloka'i, and Lana'i are encouraged to submit programming to the station, create their own television shows and have their voices heard by fellow community members.
