The event includes light pupus and beverages and a suggested $5 donation is welcomed. Interested Individuals should RSVP to reserve a seat, as space will be limited in the media lab.

“Maui hosts celebrities who need a break from the business all the time. We are so lucky that Dan is taking the time to share his extensive Hollywood experience with the Akaku community through our access center,” said Lou DiLiberto, an accomplished producer, who was recently hired as Akaku’s Director of Operations.

Dan Richter is a film industry executive in Hollywood and is world famous for his work as a mime, choreographer, actor, director and producer. Richter’s friend Sir Arthur C. Clarke referred to him as “the most famous unknown actor in the world,” for his role in the opening scene of Stanley Kubrick’s famous science-fiction film “2001: A Space Odyssey.”

Richter is not only recognized for his work with Kubrick in 2001’s “The Dawn of Man” sequence, but is also held in high-esteem for working with John Lennon and Yoko Ono on various projects from 1969 to 1973, including the legendary song, “Imagine.”

Currently, Richter is working to complete two memoirs: “Yoko and John” gives readers an “intimate look into the lives of John and Yoko,” And the second installment of Moonwatchers’ Memoir, which was made into a feature-length documentary by filmmaker Hans Pfleiderer and will be shown at the Producers’ Night gathering.

“Producers” Night” is a monthly event series that provides a space for community producers to come together, exchange thoughts, and connect with Akaku’s community producer network. These events are designed to facilitate learning among community producers in an informal and casual setting.
