Akaku’s The Maui Daily incorporates your favorite YouTube videos, bringing the online video sensation from your computer onto your local TV screens. The Maui Daily, will feature a new segment called “YouTube pick of the Week,” where Akaku enthusiasts can submit their favorite YouTube video clips and watch it air on channel 54. The Maui Daily, Akaku’s weekly 30-minute news magazine show, airs 7am, 7pm and midnight.

“YouTube Pick of the Week segment makes it really easy for the community to get involved with The Maui Daily. This is one way for local people who enjoy video-sharing online to air their selections with other Akaku viewers,” said Emily Sullivan, Akaku Productions Manager. “Basically, it adds a local element to the global video phenomenon.”

Community members and producers who are interested in sharing their favorite video clips on The Maui Daily are encouraged to email the YouTube link to mauidaily@akaku.org along with comments, name and location. All submissions by Maui County residents will be considered and must not exceed 3-minutes in length. Akaku productions will decide on a new YouTube pick each week and will air it on the show.

Be sure to watch The Maui Daily, Monday-Friday beginning at 7am to see if your video clip is on channel 54. Tune in this week’s The Maui Daily to see our first “pick of the week.”
