Akakū Upstairs: Hisako Lab Spring Student Showcase

Join us for a creative adventure into the brainchild of local boy turned renowned Director, Destin Cretton, (Short Term 12, The Glass Castle, Just Mercy and Marvel Studios films Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings), Hisako Film Labs and their student filmmaking programs. Co-Directed by Brad Kester and Joy Cretton, the Lab is a filmmaking education organization providing hands-on instruction and resources for Mauiʻs youth. The free Spring Lab program was in partnership with Maui Huliau Foundation, Fuzz Box Productions and UH Maui Academy for Creative Media. The Spring Lab was made up of five student teams who will showcase their films. A discussion and Q&A with each team, and Brad, will follow.
