“Maui Film Festival Preview” and Call for Entries w/Director, Barry Rivers
April 12, 2019
Since 1999, Barry Rivers, founder and director of the Maui Film Festival has turned his love of cinema into a hugely popular, one-of-a-kind open-air festival. It has featured top-notch new movies and has honored some of Hollywood’s finest talent for the last 20 years.
“Celestial Cinema” premieres and A-list tributes are popular draws, as are the film panels, the beachfront “Toes in the Sand Cinema” and gourmet tastings at the Wailea Resort.
This year’s festival will run from June 12-16, 2019 and will include events in Wailea as well as at the Maui Arts and Cultural Center and Wailuku’s historic Iao Theatre.
Film submissions are still being accepted with no fee for those made in Hawaii.
Presentation:
While Barry and his team are still selecting films for this year’s festival he will share previews of some of the movies under consideration and ask the audience for input. He will also talk about the film submission process and introduce the Sweepstakes for VIP Festival Passes. Please join us for this special event.
